BOLTON MP Brian Iddon has backed a campaign to bring green energy to two billion of the world's poorest people.
Dr Iddon, MP for Bolton South East, pledged his support to the 'Choose Positive Energy' campaign, which would bring renewable energy to parts of the developing world without electricity by 2012. More than 500,000 people have signed a petition supporting the campaign, which will be delivered to the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg next month.
Dr Iddon said: "We must help all those who need energy to produce it in a sustainable way."
