A MAN who was convicted of stealing a microwave oven has been given a six month's community rehabilitation order.

Bury magistrates heard that Michael Sloan, was stopped carrying the ovenon Bury Market. Two security guards who knew Sloa

n became suspicious and held him until police arrived. It was discovered that the oven had been stolen earlier from Argos. Sloan, aged 24, from School Street in Radcliffe, who always denied the offence and was only convicted after a trial, claimed he had bought it from a man for £15.
