A SUPERHERO swung into action to boost charity.
Spiderwoman led they way as thrill seekers queued up to take on the challenge of abseiling down a building to help homeless young people in Bolton.
To raise cash for their drop-in service, BASE centre workers, together with Bolton Youth Service, organised the sponsored abseil down their Marsden Road building.
More than 40 people turned up to have a go at the 90ft-high challenge, including Spiderwoman, alias early years and childcare team worker Helen Woodward.
Fundraising, training and development officer Kalpna Patel dressed as Batman's evil enemy Catwoman for the occasion.
The event was organised by Miss Patel, who wanted to build on the success of an abseil last year in aid of the Indian earthquake appeal.
Sponsorship raised more than £1,100 and money will be spent at the drop-in service to upgraded computers, to pay for soap powder so young people can wash clothes and to provide toiletries for the showers.
