LABOUR MP Ruth Kelly is urging bosses at the Royal Bolton Hospital to take advantage of cut-priced digital technology -- to make hearing aids available to all NHS patients.
The Bolton West MP is calling on the hospital to invest in digital hearing aids with prices falling by more than 50 per cent.
She is backing a campaign by the Royal National Institute for the Deaf to put pressure on manufacturers to reduce the costs of hearing aids.
Before the RNID campaign, these cost up to £205 each. Today, they cost just £70 each.
Ms Kelly said: "I will be contacting Bolton Hospitals NHS Trust to urge them to take advantage of these developments."
