A BILLBOARD poster appealing for information to help catch the killer of vice girl Danielle Moorcroft was set to be put up today -- for the second time in 24 hours.
The first, yards from the car park where the pregnant 21-year-old was found battered to death, was covered up yesterday after the building owner objected.
It was thought to be the first time a billboard had been used as part of a murder hunt across Greater Manchester. Advertising company JC Decaux vowed to work with police to find a second suitable site.
And today, detectives said the poster could be repositioned, possibly on a larger billboard at the junction of Lower Bridgeman Street and Manchester Road.
Det Supt Patsy Wood, leading the murder hunt, said today: "Hopefully we could be in a position to put up another one today, or certainly in the near future." Danielle's partially-naked body was found in bushes behind Bolton Community College on June 1. She was last seen getting into a large, dark car on a slip road leading to Trinity Way Retail Park.
Detectives today repeated a plea for the driver to come forward in confidence.
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 5961 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Mr John Blackburn, managing director of Tribe Limited, is not a member of Bolton's SRB Six European Funding Steering Group, as stated in yesterday's Bolton Evening News.
It is, in fact, his son, also called John, who is a member of the steering group. We are happy to set the record straight and apologise for any embarassment.
