Few openings left for Doe Hey charity match
BOLTON Rivers AC stage the ever popular Doe Hey Charity Match which is fished on both of the club's reservoirs on Sunday.
There are still a few tickets left at £10 all inclusive, and anglers who still wish to enter are urged to purchase the entry tickets ASAP from either Highfield Tackle, Shorrocks Bros or Worsley Angling Centre.
qBOLTON Anglers hold their Annual Cup on Doffcocker Reservoir on July 28.
The draw takes place at 8-30am at the scout hut, with fishing from 10am until 3pm. Telephone entries to Dave Hansen on 0161 761 7441.
qBOLTON and Radcliffe Anglers have got together and organised a series of matches as practice on the Embassy Pairs venue of the Lancaster Canal.
There are five matches before the big one held on September 8. They are the 4th,11th, 18th and 21st of August, with the last one on September 1.
The draw takes place at the White Bull on the A6 from 8am with fishing from 10am until 3pm. Refreshments are available.

qLord Nelson AC travelled over to the Oaks at Sessay for their first visit to the North Yorkshire water and already a return visit is being planned.
Although the weights were lower than other fishery returns, there were hardly any carp caught with most anglers bagging up on silver fish. Match Secretary Tony Carter did most bagging by taking hyde, roach, chub and skimmers all caught on worm for 30lbs-4ozs. Second was another 'worm man', Mark Armitage who was not too far behind at 26lbs-1ozs. Third was Jock Porter with 20lbs-4ozs and fourth was Kenny Stewert with 19lbs.-12ozs. Sections: 'A' 1st. Trevor Bevin 18-10-0, 2nd. Barrie Kaye 13-13-0, 'B' 1st. Glynn Kateley 14-15-0, 2nd. Pat Power 12-15-0.
qWednesday's daytime match on number 4 lake saw another 'tonning performance' when Paul Slee of Openshaw Baits finished with 141lbs of carp. Second was S. Leach of Bradshaw Fisheries with 86lbs-4ozs and another Bradshaw fisherman was third when S. Bradly's haul turned the scales to 77lbs-8ozs.
Others: 4th. T. Birchall (Bolton Co-op AC) 76-8-0, 5th. D Griffiths (Bradshaw) 66-8-0.
qA couple of matches on Doe Hey saw good skimmers and tench to be the main species in the winner's bags.
In the Wednesday match Neil Hampson took five tench with a few skimmers on the pole for 15lbs-10ozs, second was Bob Fearnhead with 9lbs-8ozs and third was Martin Ormerod with 8lbs-6ozs.
Last Saturday Glynn Wray had two nice bream and skimmers on the pole for a winning 10lbs-14ozs. Again in second place was Bob Fearnhead with an all bit bag of 10lbs-11ozs and Paul Johnson was third with 7lbs-5ozs.
