A MAN with a bizarre passion for gas tanks is set to display his first major art exhibition at a renowned gallery.
Owen Hurcombe, 28, of Lawton Close, Higher Wheelton, became fascinated by the giant steel structures after living near one as a youngster.
He has even made a full-time career out of his passion by touring Lancashire and capturing the huge drums on film.
He said: "People always ask me why I decided to take pictures of gas tanks and I still haven't found the right answer because they are just something which I find interesting.
"I hope that people accept it for what it is and like my work. I am very excited about having my pictures on display at such a prestigious art gallery."
Owen has pictured every gas tank in the North West with his favourite snap being the Morecambe tank.
His work is to go on display to the public after a preview evening takes place at Cedar Farm Galleries, Back Lane, Mawdesley, tomorrow, Friday, July 19, from 7pm.
People can observe 30 different examples of his work from July 20, to September 16.
