TONIGHT (Friday) brings the much-anticipated opening of Life Bar Cafe, the latest addition to Bolton's bar scene.

The venue is likely to attract a great deal of interest in its first few weeks but happily I think that it will retain these curious customers - the spacious interior and stylish surroundings mean that the venue will manage to convince some customers that Manchester isn't the only option for a sophisticated night out.

No doubt the bar will be thronging all weekend with inquisitive customers but a particular highlight in the Life calendar is Thursday, July 25, when you can check out the DJ-ing talents of a certain Dane Bowers.

Bowers came to the nation's attention with his work with Another Level and then True Steppers, with whom he recorded Buggin' and, with Victoria Beckham, the hit single Out Of Your Mind. Dane is now establishing himself as a solo artist and will be delighting Bolton crowds next week with some well chosen tunes. I wonder if he'll play any Posh Spice...
