A PROCESSING plant is to open in St Helens to help deal with Britain's fridge mountain, Environment Minister Michael Meacher has said.
The move comes on top of an extra £40 million for local authorities to deal with the problem. There will now be five facilities to deal with 900,000 old fridges stockpiled in Britain.
