LANCASHIRE claimed their first away win of the Norwich Union season as a half-century from Stuart Law and an excellent performance from young bowler Kyle Hogg led the Red Rose county to a 16-run win over Hampshire at the Rose Bowl.
The hosts were looking to strengthen their bid for promotion from Division Two and looked to have a good chance as Lancashire set a target of 164 in a match reduced to 40 overs by poor weather in Southampton.
But 19-year-old Hogg took four for 20 in eight overs to help bowl out Hampshire for 147 and drag the visitors further away from the bottom of the table.
The teams are meeting again in a four day match.
