A MAN shot by police on the M6 appeared in Bolton Crown Court on crutches.
Mark Fletcher, aged 28, was injured when a police marksman shot him after an incident on the motorway on July 8. Police closed the motorway for eight hours causing huge traffic jams.
Fletcher, of Charles Street, St Helens, was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg and then remanded in custody at his first court hearing. He was brought into court yesterday hobbling on crutches for the hearing.
He is charged possessing a firearm with intent, making a threat to kill, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and with no licence. He was remanded in custody until September 23 for a plea and directions hearing.
