A WOMAN ripped gold chains from another woman's neck and threatened to put a bullet through her head if she failed to come up with £1,300, a court heard.
Sherry Kershaw is alleged to have ripped two gold chains from Joanne Ratcliffe's neck and also stole three gold rings, together worth £200.
But Kershaw, aged 26, of Jethro Street, Tonge Moor, denied a robbery charge at Bolton Crown Court. She claimed Ratcliffe had said she intended making a false allegation about her to the police.
The alleged robbery happened last October when Ratcliffe had gone back to her home in Le Gendre Street, Tonge Moor, which had been burgled, and met with Kershaw, whom she knew.
Prosecutor Sharon Amesu said the pair talked and Kershaw allegedly demanded Ratcliffe bring £1,300 by that night. If she did not, Kershaw said she would empty her house. The pair bumped into each other later and Kershaw allegedly snatched the chain from Ratcliffe's neck and threatened her with a lump hammer.
She allegedly snatched a second gold chain and Ratcliffe also handed over three gold rings. Kershaw said if Ratcliffe complained to the police that she would put a bullet through her head.

When arrested Kershaw claimed she had been approached by Ratcliffe who said she was going to make a false allegation about her to the police.
