TIGER Woods and Co may have battled it out at the Open, but Chorley Council wants keen local golfers to play, not just watch.
The town's pay and play course at Duxbury Park has been revamped and Chorley MP Lindsay Hoyle, was joined on the first tee by Preston North End players Paul McKenna and Richard Cresswell and Councillor Mary Wilson to celebrate the change.
Coun Wilson said: "We are pleased through the partnership with community leisure services that we can offer residents the opportunity to use the leisure centres and play golf in membership."
Local PGA professional Tony Howarth will be providing a week of free tuition.
