CELTIC's former Wanderers midfielder Alan Thompson will undergo an MRI scan today to determine the extent of his ankle injury.
The former Aston Villa man was taken off four minutes into the 3-1 defeat by Ajax at Parkhead last night.
A scan last night revealed no major damage with a severe sprain appearing to be the likely outcome.
However, today's scan will reveal the full extent of the injury.
The injury is similar to the one sustained by Stephen Crainey and Chris Sutton last season but the length of recovery will not be decided until Thompson's results are known.
