WANDERERS' chairman Phil Gartside is aiming to seal the deal that will bring Spain's respected international defender Ivan Campo to the Reebok.
The Bolton chief is locked in talks with the Real Madrid centre-back, who has been made available by the Spanish giants who paid £9 million when they bought him from Real Mallorca.
The vastly experienced defender is the latest of the world famous stars Sam Allardyce has identified as realistic summer transfer targets, following the deals that netted Jay Jay Okocha, Bulent Akin and Youri Djorkaeff, but the manager was refusing to count chickens this morning when he advised: "If it's going to be done it will be done or agreed by the end of the week. Then he (Campo) will need to come over next week for a medical ... which I hope is the case because he is a player I would like to bring to the football club.
"But there is still a long way to go before we can say we will definitely get him."
