A WOMAN was rescued by firefighters after a blaze engulfed her lounge early today.
The 37-year-old's settee was believed to have been on fire and she raised the alarm after becoming trapped in her first floor bedroom.
Four firefighters broke down the front door of her house in West Meade, Great Lever and led her to safety. She was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. Poice are investigating.
