NEW guidelines announced by the Secretary of State for Health that could allow for care homes to be kept open have been welcomed by Lindsay Hoyle MP.
The Chorley MP, who represents Adlington, said that this would allow good quality care homes to stay open even though they can not afford to make improvements on their buildings.
Lancashire County Council had ruled that many homes would have to close because they did not have the money to make the changes.
