A WOMAN accused of ripping gold chains from another woman's neck and threatening to kill her if she failed to come up with £1,300 has been cleared by a jury.
Sherry Kershaw had denied ripping off the chains and taking three gold rings worth £207 from Joanne Ratcliffe during the allegey robbery last October.
Kershaw, aged 26, of Jethro Street, Tonge Moor, had denied robbery at Bolton Crown Court and was acquitted by the jury. When interviewed by police, Kershaw claimed she had been approached by Ratcliffe who said she was going to make a false allegation about her to the police.
She denied threatening Ratcliffe or robbing her, and said that she had not seen her at all at the time the alleged robbery had taken place.
Kershaw will be sentenced on July 31 at Manchester Crown Court for an aggravated burglary she had earlier admitted.
