HAMPSHIRE had the best of the opening day to their game against Lancashire at The Rose Bowl.
Christopher Tremlett returned figures of five for 68 and Shaun Udal four for 25 as the visitors were rattled out for just 183 in 76.2 overs.
Only opener Alec Swann made any progress, hitting 66.
In reply, Hampshire ended the day at 45 for two from 24 overs. Giles White (1) and John Francis (10) were the men out, while opener William Kendall had reached 18 from 80 balls at stumps.
