FARMER Arnold Davenport is to appear before a county court judge on Monday -- and faces being sent to prison for breaching his eviction order.
The 58-year-old was served with a court order by bailiffs this week after he failed to leave Nab Gate Farm, in Harwood.
Landowner Christopher Holt, is evicting Mr Davenport.
Neighbours are supporting Mr Davenport and are searching for a top barrister whom they hope will fight his case. The last time Mr Davenport appeared before the judge, he refused legal advice but he now welcomes being represented by a professional.
Chairman of the Harwood Action Group, Ian Bradley, said: "We are confident that a barrister will be representing Arnold and a legal loophole will be found."
Bailiffs turned up at the Stitch-mi-Lane property on Wednesday to serve Mr Davenport with an order to appear in court at 10am on Monday.
The farmer, who claims to be involved in a deal to buy the property with a Harwood businessman, said: "I wasn't surprised when the bailiffs turned up. I know that on Monday they can send me to prison, but at least I have fought for my rights."
The group will meet at 8.30pm tonight to discuss how they hope to save their neighbour from jail.
Meanwhile, Bolton planners are due to discuss an application by Breightmet Golf Club, on August 1, to develop the land.
