REAL Madrid have cleared the way for Wanderers to sign Spanish international centre-back Ivan Campo.
Bolton chairman Phil Gartside met Real chiefs in Madrid yesterday and agreed a deal for the defender who is still under contract at the Bernabeu.
Now he will meet the player and his representatives in an effort to agree personal terms, although that is by no means cut and dried.
"That could be the hard part," Sam Allardyce said as he awaited developments.
