TWELVE regulars from a Kearsley pub hit the bullseye in a nationwide competition -- and are now jetting off to New York.
The Moss Rose sure-shots won their dream trip after finishing champions in a series of bar games.
They competed at darts, dominoes and shove-halfpenny before taking part in a pub quiz to win the trip to the Big Apple.
"We still can't believe it," said team captain Brian Wright. "Last year we got to the final, but missed out on a trip to Las Vegas. We weren't going to let this one slip away."
In the semi-finals the team overcame the team from a pub in Durham which beat them last year.
And the final turned out to be a real nailbiter with the Moss Rose lads pipping the regulars The Trap in Ipswich 24-23.
"It all depended on the last game of darts but when our team member Gary Cartmel threw the winning arrow the place went wild,"Brian said.
"A coach-load of supporters from the pub had followed us to the final in Leicester and they raised the roof."
Now all the bar-room talk at the Manchester Road pub is all about the five day all-expenses paid trip.
And the team members and their wives and girlfriends cannot wait for November when they jet across the Atlantic.
Landlady Alison Penlington said: "Everyone in the pub is over the moon for us.
"But I'm not surprised. The regulars here are amazing. We can't wait to get to New York. I'm sure we'll celebrate with a few drinks when we get there -- and we'll have another party when we get back."
The Moss Rose regulars joining Alison on the flight are captain Brian Wright and team members Steve Coote, Jason Eaton, Jack Brooks, John Worthington, Ian Haslam, Paul Whitworth, Mark Holden, Dave Johnson, John Cairns and Gary Cartmel.
