SAM Allardyce is refusing to concede defeat in his attempt to bring Real Madrid defender, Ivan Campo, to the Reebok.
The Bolton boss says quotes attributed to the Spanish international centre-back, suggesting he has rejected a move to the Premiership, have been dismissed by the player's representatives.
The efforts of Wanderers' chairman Phil Gartside, who last week agreed a deal with Real for the 28-year-old defender, appeared to have come to nothing when Campo was reported as saying he preferred to stay at the Bernabeu rather than join Wanderers.
But Allardyce - famous for his persistence in transfer matters - confirmed: "We are still concentrating on Campo.
"Having spoken to his agent, we feel the internet site statement is something the lad is just not saying. But we have had the all clear from Madird to speak to him and that is what we intend to do."
