THE Goldline Trophy really came alive yesterday as defending champions Atherton Collieries were beaten 2-1 at Pennington.
A Carl Caffery goal in first half stoppage-time was followed by an own goal, although Paul Gallagher scored a late consolation for Colls.
Pennington look in good shape to qualify for the knockout stages as do Prestwich Heys, who brushed aside Bolton County 2-0.
A late goal from John Margettes earned Elton Vale victory over Daisy Hill in a dour game, whilst Brightmet United and Old Boltonians drew 1-1.
Ashton Athletic came from behind to edge out Blackrod Town in a thriller, with Stuart Ince scoring at the death.
Blackrod play Atherton LR tonight.
