work is underway by council staff in Radcliffe to adopt a private road.
The work, in Saxon Steet, includes drainage, kerbing, footway and carriageway surfacing, lining and street lighting.
Once it has been completed and the formal adoption carried out, the road's future maintenance will be the responsibility of Bury Council.
The work is expected to take about six weeks to complete and, to accommodate these, a temporary road closure order will be in place.
Council officers have pledged to keep any possible inconvenience or disruption to a minimum. More details are available from Louise Pendlebury on 0161 253 5796.
