THIS week, much of Bolton will be focusing on the Commonwealth Games.

For our look at what's new here are some interesting products with links to the Games.

It is well worth shopping around when it comes to picking up Commonwealth Games branded stuff.

Try Asda for some real bargains in official merchandise.

Bolton, and Horwich in particular, is hosting the cycling event so I have also picked out a super bicycle to buy locally.

ASDA has a super selection of Commonwealth Games products, some at prices less than the suggested retail price. Look out for pin badges (£2.97) which have a suggested price of £3.95, plastic beaker with bendy straw and Kit -- the Games' official mascot -- logo on the front (£1.97) suggested price £2.99, small Commonwealth Games' bear (£2.98), suggested price £3.99 and sports' bottle (£1.88), suggested price of £2.99.

ALDI has a super alloy frame dual suspension 24-speed bike for sale (£189.99 pictured top) designed to tackle all terrains. If you want to train seriously then add the 17 function bicycle computer (£3.99) which includes a speedometer, digital clock and total distance reading. Do not forget head protection with the adult bike helmet (£6.99) and the cycling glasses (£2.99) will help protect riders form sunrays and mud splashes. Aldi also has unisex cycling gloves with leather palms (£1.99). There is a unisex cycling jacket (£9.99) which is comfortable and waterproof with a concealed hood and reflective tapes and unisex lycra cycling shorts (£5.99). Finally Aldi also has an all purpose rucksack (£7.99) including a detachable mobile phone pouch, lead outlet for CD player and front compartment complete with straps to secure a helmet.

COMMONWEALTH GAMES official merchandise is available from a variety of different outlets. There is a huge range to choose from including polo shirts, keyrings and children's rucksacks. The children's insulated lunch bag (£5.99) will be popular with little ones and the keyrings (£3.50) signify all the different sports at the Games including hockey and swimming. There are several model cars, trams and buses to choose from and the model tram (£24.99) would make a very special commemorative present. Look out for them at the Bolton Arena retail unit and Rivington retail unit or call the mail order hotline on 0845 608 2002.

WOOLWORTHS also has a small selection of products for sale including the Kit mascot cuddly bear (£9.99 and £4.99), tea towels and drinks' bottles.
