A HOLE in one does not come around very often but the Bolton Golf Association Junior Championship saw two at Chorley on Sunday.
Former Bolton Evening News Trophy winner 18 year-old John Cheetham made his at the par three seventh and was followed by Daniel Barnett, aged 15, of Westhoughton, on the third.
Despite their heroics it was not enough to win the trophy which was lifted by Andrew Atherton on his home course with a 73.
Peter Finch of Hindley Hall was second, a shot behind and BGA senior finalist Simon Walsh, of Bolton, came third with 75.
Caroline made it a clean sweep for the Atherton family by victory in the girls' trophy with 81-12-69 while Chorley's A Straw returned 88-22-66 to earm him the best nett.
