A GIRL whose foot was almost severed in an accident with a car is in a "satisfactory" condition at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Zoe Cornes, aged 11, of Tredgold Street, Horwich, has undergone surgery to repair her ankle which was torn in the accident.
She was injured as she ran across Chorley New Road to a shop on Sunday, July, 21.
She was struck by a passing car and her foot became jammed under the rear wheel.
Zoe, who is due to start at Rivington and Blackrod High School in September, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where surgeons put her foot back into place in a two-hour operation.
She returned to surgery yesterday where doctors assessed the damage to her foot.
It is believed the major blood vessels in her ankle were not damaged in the accident and that doctors will be able to repair the damage.
