LOCAL groups are going to celebrate the Commonwealth Games in style thanks to grants from the Council's celebration fund.
Among those organisations who have received grants is Bolton Market Radio which will use its grant of £1000 to host roadshows during the Games.
They are an organisation training people in various media skills who are socially excluded.
Horwich Arts Council will use its £1000 grant to stage events in the Horwich Arts Festival and to record the Games events in Horwich through the publication of photographs and a memories book.
A day of Asian, African and Caribbean food and music for young people at Bolton West Indian Centre is being organised by the African, Asian and Afro-Caribbean Focus Group with the help of a £1,000 grant.
Bolton Rugby Union club will be holding a school rugby competition with the help of their £274 grant.
And Bolton Community Video will be making a recording of people and places during the Games with their £900 grant.
