A MAN accused of motoring offences caused £300 worth of damage when he ripped out an intercom system in a police cell, a court was told.
Stephen Crossthwaite, aged 21, of Cameron Street, Bury, was arrested when a police officer saw him driving without a seatbelt.
At Bury magistrates court yesterday, he pleaded guilty to disqualified driving, having no insurance and causing criminal damage.
He damaged the police cell intercom system because he was pressing the button and nobody was seeing to him, the court heard. The case was adjourned until August 19 for pre-sentence reports.
