INDIA has agreed a price for the purchase of 66 Hawk trainer jets from BAe Systems, helping to secure jobs at the plant in Wharton.
The deal, estimated to be worth about £1 billion, now only needs the approval of India's government, which is due to discuss it during August.
Negotiations, continuing for more than 15 years, had stalled over the price.
