THE Chief Inspector of Prisons has said officers and inmates at Manchester Prison, formerly known as Strangeways, may be at risk because of staff reductions caused by cost cutting.
The prison needs to improve its education and healthcare services, according to a report. The team also praised aspects of the prison, saying staff had worked in their own time to improve procedures.
Inspector Anne Owers said the prison "did not give major cause for concern".
