TEN-YEAR-OLD Stacey Henniker's courtyard garden is set to blossom -- at one of the north's major flower shows.
The youngster designed her garden for a competition and won the chance to have it recreated at Southport Flower Show.
Stacey, a pupil at St Gregory's RC Primary School, Farnworth, was one of three winners of the David Bellamy Schools' Competition. And she will now get the chance to meet the famous professor himself at the show.
Forty schools from the North-west took part in the competition and more than 2,200 children submitted their plans for a courtyard garden in which a piece of sculpture would be placed.
Stacey's award-winning design will be recreated by experts and turned into a garden which will be seen by more than 100,000 visitors during the three-day event, which starts on August 22.
She will also receive £500 towards either a piece of sculpture for the school or an art or gardening project and £50 for herself.
Miss Carrie Thorne, Stacey's teacher at St Gregory's, said: "Stacey is very creative and good at art. We are delighted she has won this prize."
