LITTLE Beth Morris must wait a few more months before she can play out with her friends.
The courageous six-year-old can only watch through the window as her pals enjoy their school holidays because the bone marrow transplant she underwent two months ago means she cannot mix with other youngsters.
Her mum, Janet, of Hollow Meadow, Ringley, near Kearsley, said Beth is making wonderful progress but will have to stay in isolation until October.
Beth captured the hearts of people in the town after she waited a year for a bone marrow donor to be found.
She has tirelessly campaigned for others, despite her failing health, urging people to join the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow register and to give blood.
Now, the little girl who longs to swim with dolphins is on the road to recovery. Mother-of-two Mrs Morris said: "She is doing well. We tend to stay in most of the time because we can't mix with people. Beth is happy, although it can be hard watching the children playing out, enjoying their school holidays.
"But we feel very lucky that Beth is fine. We can see a light at the end of the tunnel, although we realise that she is not out of the woods yet."
