A 22-MONTH-OLD girl has been orphaned in a Spanish holiday crash which killed three members of her family.
The girl, who has not been named, was injured in a head-on collision.
The accident on a motorway near Sanxenxo in northwest Pontevedra province killed her parents Nigel Eastwood, aged 40, his wife Rebecca, aged 37. The couple's eight-year-old son also died. The family, believed to be from Worsley, were on holiday on pain's Atlantic coast near the Portuguese border when their hire car was involved in a smash.
A Spanish man and woman also died in the accident and staff at the Provincial Hospital in Pontevedra said three other people were admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
It is thought several other cars ploughed into the wreckage of the two vehicles.
Spanish roads have been clogged with traffic this week because of summer holidaymakers heading to the mountains or beaches. Three other people died in road accidents around the country yesterday, local media said.
