I SEE that the famine in Africa is back with us again.
It happens every year. Those little children we see on our TVs are very sad and a lot of people won't give money because half of it does not reach those it's meant for.
Why doesn't our Government put more pressure on these countries and their tin-pot regimes and do more constructive things with more money, maybe from the Lottery, for this deserving cause? Maybe engineers with equipment could try to irrigate these vast areas. It can be done. So, come on, Government, get your fingers out and do something proper to help the poor people, instead of talking about war-mongering with Iraq.
We have a lot of problems of our own, but nothing to compare with this disaster.
