THE Queen has sent a thank-you note to Bolton school children who told her the best way to rule Britannia.

She said their thoughts, drawings and poems were "wonderful" -- but added she would never be able to make chocolate free.

Dozens of children across town took part in contest to see which of them would make the best monarch for a day.

It was organised by a firm called Crowns and Regalia, which brought a replica of the Crown Jewels to the Crompton Place shopping centre for the Golden Jubilee.

Rachel Ashworth, from St Peter and Paul School, and Dean Everall, from Johnson Fold Community School, were the winners.

They and their classmates got to meet a lookalike of the Queen -- who was just as impressed by her work as the real Royal.

Rachel, aged 11, said: "I mainly wanted to stop all wars and give extra money to help schools.

"When I found out I had won I couldn't believe it, but I don't think I would really like to be Queen -- it would be too hard work."

Dean, aged nine, wanted to provide more youth clubs near his home in Johnson Fold. He also wanted to make health care free in America.

"I saw this film where a girl had cancer and her dad couldn't afford to pay for her treatment. I thought it was wrong. I would also like to stop people committing crimes."

Children also wanted to give people limousines and to put up the price of cigarettes.

Others wanted to give money to the poor, make people love their families and send money to Bethlehem to rebuild bombed houses..2
