FIREFIGHTER leaders in the region have said an all-out nationwide strike is inevitable unless employers improve their pay offer.
The Local Government Association -- the biggest fire service employer -- wants the Government to launch an independent review to all the issues.
It claims the Fire Brigade Union's demand for a substantial pay increase, or the threat to strike, is unrealistic.
The union will ballot for strike action in September without an improved offer.
