Bolton Hospice is to launch its most daring fund-raising event to date later this month -- and officials need your help.
Brave volunteers are needed for a charity challenge with a daring difference -- a fire walk over hot coals. Competitors will be asked to walk along a 20ft path of coals burning at more than 1,200 degrees farenheit.
But don't worry -- you are allowed to run.
All volunteers will undergo a two-hour intensive training session led by experts before the event on Wednesday, August 14, in Victoria Square, Bolton. The programme will explore mind over matter and techniques to overcome fear.
The fire walk will start at 10pm, with a build-up from 7.30pm. All proceeds will go towards Bolton Hospice.
Margaret Ainscow, community fund-raiser at the hospice, said it was the first time a fire walk had been held in Bolton. She added: "I have been amazed by the number of people who have said they have always wanted to do a fire walk.
"We are looking forward to registering quite a few daredevils. It should be a night to remember."
Bolton Hospice is looking for at least 50 volunteers to put their best foot forward and raise a minimum of £100. For details and a free information pack, call Margaret at the hospice on 520040.
