SAM Fogg will be swapping books and pens for shoulder pads and face guards over the next few weeks as he attempts to help clinch American football glory for Great Britain.
The 16-year-old has only just finished at Turton High School, but has now been selected for the national under-19 side and is taking part in the European Junior Championships in Glasgow.
As a wide receiver, the Lancashire Wolverines player has the responsibility of scoring touch downs as he takes catches from the play-making quarter-back. Sam says: "I've been playing American Football for about two years now and it's a great sport to get in to.
"I became interested through watching it on television and thought it looked worth giving a go."
