WHEN the Royal Mail failed to deliver the post, Michael Davidson decided to take drastic action, Bury magistrates were told.
The 45-year-old set about attacking the local post box close to his home with an axe. Davidson, of Higher Lane, Whitefield, stripped to the waist and repeatedly struck the red post box with the axe, the court heard.
Davidson admitted causing £200 worth of damage to the post box and possessing an offensive weapon. The case was adjourned until August 5 for reports.
