Horwich RMI Harrier Paul Muller continues to produce winning performances at a phenomenal rate as he recorded yet another victory, this time at the tough 5.3-mile (900') Harrock Hill Race.
His winning margin was a tremendous 42 seconds over team mate Chris Seddon in this the third of a four-race series.
With Paul in such inspired form, Chris running so well for second place and Brendan Bolland in third, Horwich easily won the team prize.
Tony Hesketh had a great run to finish 9th (1st V50), Audrey Foster was 2nd L50, Brenda Hesketh 3rd L45 and Cath Maleney 2nd L40.
The Horwich RMI Junior girls rounded off their Young Athletes' League (NW Division 1) season at Trafford Stadium with some fine performances.
There were double firsts in the A and B string competitions for all the U17 throwing events. Victories included Janine Mullineaux in the Javelin and Shot, Vicky Harold in the Javelin and Discus, Sara Cottam in the Discus, High Jump and 1500m and Leanne Bibby in the Shot.
With terrific effort from all the team, Horwich finished the season in 3rd place overall on 613.5 points, behind winners Warrington and Trafford.
