CHARNOCK Richard hit six for the second time in as many Goldline games as they thrashed Blackrod Town to put themselves on the verge of qualifying for the semi-finals.
No side have a better record in the tournament's history than Charnock, who raced into a 5-0 half-time advantage. Simon Fadden hit a first half treble and went on to add a fourth in the second half to kill off all hopes of a Town fightback.
Atherton LR had a brace of goals from both Mark Parry and Barry Mathie to thank for a comprehensive 5-2 win over Radcliffe Amateurs, but goals were thin on the ground at Eagley as they ground out a scoreless draw with Prestwich Heys.
In one of the biggest shocks of the weekend, Tottington Vets beat Stoneclough 4-1.
Tonight's Goldline action pairs Brightmet United with Ashton Town, whilst Old Boltonians take on Tempest United. Kick off at both matches is 6.30pm.
