HONEY produce in part of the region has been hit by the bad weather this year.
Bee keepers in Cumbria say they are struggling to collect enough to meet demand, a problem shared by their counterparts in the US.
It is the latest problem to hit the industry after the bug, varroa mite, came to Cumbria killing off the male, or "drone" larvae.
Nick Mills, from the Carlisle Bee Keepers Association, says the bees themselves are struggling to survive.
