VISITORS to the town centre enjoyed a colourful party atmosphere thanks to the grand finale of the Spirit of Bolton Festival.
The four day event proved to be a resounding success despite the heavy downpours earlier in the week.
The sun shone for the last day of the festival which had the theme of "World Day" and included dance performances, drama and singing in Victoria Square.
Highlights of the lively line-up included a dramatic performance from 12 members of the Octagon Theatre's youth group, Activ 8, teenage singing sensation Hannah Morris entertaining shoppers with her award winning voice and more exotic entertainment was provided by a group of belly dancers.
Singer Marcus Pinnock, from Leigh, won the crowds over with an impressive version of Elvis' "Supicious Minds".
Bolton Market Radio provided musical entertainment in between the live acts and there was a long queue for the free henna hand painting stall, face painting and balloon giveaway.
Cultural activities earlier in the week included European, Asian and African themed days featuring traditional song and dance moves.
Town centre manager Cathy Savage said: "It's been a good week despite the rain.
"People have made an effort to support the festival and have enjoyed the entertainment.
"I'm just so pleased that it's sunny for the final day."
