AN ELVIS fan from Bolton is behind the biggest ever convention in Europe to celebrate the life of The King.
Mike Welch, aged 35, from Egerton, is preparing for The Elvis Experience -- a 14-hour non-stop tribute which is expected to pull in more than 20,000 fans.
The convention, to mark 25 years since the death of Elvis Presley, will be held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool from August 16-18.
Mike said there will also be a competition for a couple to marry at the event and honeymoon in Las Vegas.
He added: "It is totally different to other Elvis tributes. It is on a much bigger and grander scale with 24 hours of non stop entertainment. It will be magnificent."
The best tribute artists in Europe have accepted invitations to perform hits from the 50s to 70s backed by the MG Welsh Orchestra, which features Mike playing the guitar. "We aim to bring Elvis alive -- I have always loved his music. My dad was the biggest Elvis fan ever," he said.
Acts will include Johnny Earle, who was chosen by Pepsi as the voice of Elvis for their TV ads, Ireland's top Elvis impressionist Mark Leen, and Michael King from Wales.
Elvis, Priscilla and Lisa Marie look-a-like competitions will run every day as well as Elvis sound-a-like contests and prizes for the best dressed King.

There are also two Elvis events being held in Bolton to mark the 25th anniversary of his death.
On Tuesday, August 13, impersonator Mark Keeley will appear at Tonge Ward Labour Club, starting at 8pm.
And on Sunday, August 18, fan Mark "Elvis" Williamson will be performing at the Albert Halls.
