BOLTON Festival's line-up of acts looks set to "conduct" itself brilliantly.
Two musical highlights in this year's programme include a Royal Jubilee Celebration of Great English music by the Bolton Festival Chorus and Orchestra and a concert featuring the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra.
The Festival Chorus and Orchestra perform on Saturday, August 24, 7.30pm, in the Albert Halls, Bolton.
Chorus master is John Powell and musical director is Bob Chassey.
A stirring programme will include Elgar's Spirit of England, Parry's coronation anthem I Was Glad, Vaughan Williams' great London Symphony and the world premiere of the Festival March for Bolton, written in celebration of the Golden Jubilee by Martin Lessons. Tickets are £9 and £7 concessions. The Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra makes its appearance on Sunday, September 1, 7.30pm, at the Festival Hall in Bolton. Tickets are £8.50 or £7.50 concessions.
