EGERTON pace bowler Sajid Mahmood is set to make a breakthrough into the Lancashire first team squad writes Peter Mensforth
The 20-year-old Bolton League player has been added for the first time to the Lancashire Lightning squad for the second floodlit fixture of the season at Old Trafford against Hampshire Hawks today.
The former Astley Bridge player's career has been carefully monitored by Red Rose officials and since being awarded a scholarship by the county, has been a regular member of the Lancashire 2nd XI.
Lancashire will be without Kyle Hogg, who has been called up for the England's under 19s second test against India U-19s.
The squad will be chosen from: Swann, Chilton, Byas, Chapple, Law, Fairbrother, Lloyd, Hegg, Yates, Wood, Mahmood, Anderson, Keedy.
