YOUNGSTERS and adults who train with Centrestage Performing Arts school in Bolton town centre promise to put on a magical show at the Albert Halls.

They will be staging The Wizard of Oz this Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm.

It is thought to be the first time that The Wizard of Oz has been performed at that venue.

It will be produced, directed and choreographed by Centrestage's Andy Vitolo and Janet Thiel.

Janet was dance captain in the West End production of Copacabana and Andy played the lead in the tenth anniversary production of the musical Chess, performed in front of Sir Tim Rice.

Janet has also performed for Princess Diana, and Andy was recently in Crossroads for Carlton TV. Pete Faint is musical director. His experience includes working on Miss Saigon and Joseph. He was also Joe Longthorn's musical director on international tours.

The show will feature all the familiar songs, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, If I Only Had A Brain, Follow The Yellow Brick Road and We're Off To See The Wizard. There will be a smoke and fire effect when the Witch or Wizard appears.

Centrestage Performing Arts is open for weekly three-hour classes and private tuition enabling children and adults to learn about performing through dance, drama and singing. Further details are from 0161 766 9918.
