ASHTON Town recorded their second Goldline Trophy win in a week beating Breightmet United 4-3.
A young Breightmet side put up a good show in the early stages but, after taking the lead through Gary McShane, they were pegged back by Simon Smith's leveller.
Town only took command of the game after half-time with goals from Anthony Woodyer and Stuart Peel and, although a Paul Aldred double brought United back into contention, the game was killed off with an own goal ten minutes from time.
Tempest United showed that their hopes of progressing from that group were not over as they won at Old Boltonians 3-1.
